Historic view towards Burslem

The Trust seeks to reopen the Burslem Branch Canal, creating new waterside facilities to deliver sustainable leisure, tourism and thus employment.

We aim to make a major difference to the quality of life in Burslem and Middleport through a major regeneration project which will extend from Rogerson’s Meadows and the Trent and Mersey Canal to Furlong Mills in lower Burslem.

The completed project will deliver the re-opened Canal Branch, a mooring basin in a newly constructed pool at Furlong Mills, recreational facilities in the heritage buildings on the historic wharf, and outdoor/sporting activities along the canal side.

It will provide a high-quality canalside setting for the residential redevelopment sites.

Volunteer work party cancelled

Dear all

Due to the extremely poor weather, today's planned work party is cancelled. There is thunder and lightning in the Stoke area at present and rain continuously forecast through the day, so it is not either safe or practical to go ahead.

If people are interested/available may try to reschedule for either this Friday or next Tuesday. Please let me know if either is possible for you.
