Clean for the Queen - Saturday 5th March 2016
On Saturday 5th March community group Middleport Matters joined forces with IWA North Staffs & South Cheshire branch and CRT volunteers to undertake a Clean for the Queen event along the towpath and canal, plus the streets of the district.
CRT supplied a small boat and trained volunteers who used it to remove floating rubbish along the Trent & Mersey Canal whilst Burslem Port volunteers picked litter along the line of the branch canal. A group of young people from the YMCA were dispatched along the towpath and the local Boys Brigade worked outwards from Middleport Park.
